Ellis & Yukon
Collectively known as "The Boys."
Owner: Kolin Powick, Director of Global Quality
Ellis—mellow
on land, but LOVED the water. Yukon a bit
more excitable on land, but an embarrassment
to the breed in the water—he
hated it... The Boys have traveled from Eastern
Canada to Western Canada, through and across
the U.S. several times, but most recently made
SLC their home. They always wondered why Kolin
and Ellen would go to some cliff every weekend,
attempt to go up a rock route several times,
come down, then go home...
Ellis (chocolate)
Born July 21st, 1991. Best known for his diving
skills, more
diving skills and even
more diving skills.
Yukon (yellow)
Born February 4th, 1995. Also known
as Yuke, Yuki, or "The Head" due
to the gargantuan size of his head (it's
got its own weather system...).
UPDATE—February
2006
Sadly,
Yukon died suddenly on February 1, 2006,
just a few days before his 11th birthday.
He will be missed by all who knew him.

UPDATE—February
2007
Ellis
joined his “brother” on
February 22, 2007. He was over 15 ½ years
old. Though he had a full life, it doesn’t
make losing him any easier. He too will truly
be missed by all who knew him. Click HERE for more.

Mogley
Owner: Brittany Kener, Credit Analyst
Mogley, “aka Mogs” is an English Goldendoodle. He was born in California and made his way to Salt Lake when he was 8 weeks old. A former puppy star, he now spends his days lounging under his mom’s desk at work. He loves his toys, especially his herd of stuffed bunnies he keeps at home. In his spare time, he loves to play in the snow and hit the trail for a run with his parents.

Mason (aka Mr. Turd)
Owner: Crystal Bruner Harris, Graphic Designer
Mason grew up in NYC with Crystal for her
last year of college. He started as a city
dog but since living in Salt Lake, has fully
adjusted to dirt, snow, rivers, mountains and
anything that crosses his path on road trips
all over the country.
For
2 years old, he’s had his share
of injuries with the scars to prove it. So
far, the highlights are: An insane infection
in his neck (requiring surgery), broken nail
beds, a split tongue and a 10 foot fall onto
his back proceeded by another 5 feet.
He
loves doing everything that dogs do best.
He’s strong and fast and full of energy
(outdoors) and very mellow and a great snuggler
(indoors). “He’s pretty much my
favorite dog.”

out Mason's FACEBOOK page.

Moki
Owner: Peter Metcalf, President & CEO
At nearly 13, Peter's Jack Russell Moki is still going strong and managing
to beat him up pre-dawn speed hikes of Mt Olympus and the West face trail of
Grandeur. With half a dozen ascents of Timp, three of Kings Peak and a third
place finish in the Park City Steeplechase and lots of time groveling in the
Red Rock dirt of Castle Valley, Moki enjoys life in the wild places more than
being bored in Peter's office.

and Tonto are total thugs who love to intimidate
other dogs (as long as they're not too large
or fierce). Tonto, aka Floyd, has the unique
ability to scrounge garbage anywhere at any
time. Nigel is the ultimate grumpy old man
and he especially likes to beat up puppies
and seeing-eye dogs...

Taylor
& Shelby
Owner: Lisa Page, Document Control Manager
Taylor
will be 17 years old this October; she
is one of the four original BD dogs found
in our east parking lot in November of 1991.
Taylor enjoys chasing Shelby and she has
learned to enjoy coming to the office. She
gets along with everyone but causes jealousy
when she is in the office instead of her "sister" Shelby.
Taylor's puppy shot is just a few days after
I picked her up from the shelter. The second
shot was taken at the office on February
13, 2008.
Shelby came to me by way of a basket on my
doorstep from my sister, on Christmas. She
was one of five puppies abandon on the side
of the road in a duffle bag. I am convinced
that she is the reincarnation of my first
dog Chyna who passed away 12/18/98. Chyna
was my absolute best friend, someone who
was always there for me and Shelby is the
same.
Shelby's puppy shot was taken by Andrew McLean
on her first day at work. The second shot
was taken for "The Dogs
of BD" calendar.

Magik
is a very happy, fun little dog, found on
the Internet. She loves to ride in the car
to places like the desert, the snow, the
Uintahs and all places in between. Magik
is a great skiing/ hiking/biking companion.
She is still learning how to swim. She
wishes she had thumbs. She loves to
chase the ball and frisbee. Some people

Alaska
& Uma
Owner: Alberto Marazzi, Northern Italian Sales Agent
My
dogs have to join in, they are like Naomi
Campbell (the black one) and….and….and…sincerely
I don’t know for the other one. The black
dog, ALASKA, is mine (for this reason she
is so nice!). And the jaded dog, UMA, is my
girlfriend’s dog. Ciao!

Langley
Owner: Rick Luskin
Langley
is a 14-year-old Golden Retreiver recently
relocated from the beach in Malibu to the
Wasatch Mountains. Langley is named after
Mt. Langley, the southernmost 14,000 foot
peak in the Sierra and only a few feet lower
than Mt. Whitney, which she climbed at 3
months. She also has over 800 hours as co-pilot
in Cessna and Piper airplanes and has run
the slickrock trail twice. At the moment,
she is completing her first book...."How
to Beg—for Dogs."
The
other dog in the picture is Han. He supposedly
is a red healer but I think he is mostly "dingo."
He's a great dog, loyal and loving albeit
sometimes a little cunning. He currently
lives with my fiancé in Mill Valley,
California but will soon relocate to Park
City where all four of us will be together
again and seeking new adventures.

Emma
Owner: Laurel Hunter, Graphic Designer
Emma
is a very talented stick thief. The pink

Reverend (aka Rev)
Owner: Jon Smith, Manufacturing
Engineer
Reverend or AKA Rev is one of the biggest labs
I have seen; he is a huge, lovable teddy bear.
He has a love for the outdoors, swimming, boating
and let's not forget his huge fetch addiction.
He also has the unique ability to
get anyone anywhere to feed his addiction, lets
just say if he comes around
you, you are definitely going to throw something
for him and he doesn't care
what. In the picture with him sitting in the
swing, I actually was able to
do an under dog with him in it. Juice or no juice
that's funny. |

 |
Cassie
Owner: Ben Sheldon, Technical
Operations Engineer
Cassie is a small, 1-year-old, Australian Shepherd
Mix with tons of energy and love to share. When
she is not herding other dogs at the park or
the Front, she is probably being sensitive or
chewing on Ben’s shoes or socks. |

beers, and partying. |

loves her flying squirrel toy and biting ankles

Sydney.

Red
Dawg & Arnie
Owners: Brad Barlage, Sales Rep & Katie Cavicchio
Red
says, "I ride with my Dad as he travels
around Utah, Nevada and California as a BD
Sales Rep. I’m
in charge of van security and reminders to
stop and throw the ball every couple of hundred
miles. Climbing is fun but snow running behind
Dad while he's skiing is my favorite."
Arnie
is a 4-year-old Golden. He is
into trad climbing in the desert, long hikes
or approaches and backcountry skiing. With
large paws, high clearance
and tons of stamina, the only person that might
be able to outrun him is Roch Horton. Unlike
his brother Red, he is nice to everyone and
always happy and social.
