Describe
your climbing background.
I began climbing
25 years ago on the smooth rocks of Totoga;
where Manolo wrote the history of Italian
climbing, in the heart of the Dolomites.
Was there a big breakthrough or defining
moment for you?
A great change in my way
of seeing climbing happened when I saw
Moffat and Moon in their video the “Real
Thing.”
Describe a memorable climbing experience.
The opening
of the route “Cani morti” in
the Dolomites (8b+/c).
What are you up to when you’re
not climbing?
I’m
a mountain-rescuer.
Any training advice or suggestions?
A lot of bouldering.

Who or what inspires you?
Any of those who are able
to transmit emotions in climbing.
How do you see climbing evolving in the next five
years?
I think climbing will go far ahead, towards
unforeseeable difficulties, particularly on big
walls.
What do you think about the 5.15 grade?
It’s
very near.
Do you have any vices and what are they?
Smoke
and beer.
What are your future plans or goals in climbing?
I’m
sure my future will be rich in wonderful climbing
all over the world.
