Black Diamond deeply mourns the tragic loss of Jonny Copp and Micah Dash who, along with filmmaker Wade Johnson, were killed in an avalanche on Mount Edgar (6818 m) in southwestern China.
Jonny and Micah lived every day to its fullest, drinking in gulps from the cup of life, adventuring for first ascents in impeccable fast and light alpine style on the world’s high peaks. Their energy, stoke, creativity, commitment and humor will be missed terribly by all of us here at Black Diamond. Their deaths on Mount Edgar have shaken us to the core and we strive to eventually move forward with their spirits in our hearts and minds. But for now there is only sadness and emptiness as we come to grips with the grave loss of Jonny and Micah, two of the most inspirational, vibrant climbers, friends, adventurers we have ever been fortunate enough to know.
